Bocca Buona Riga
Background and brief
Bocca Buona is situated on the entrance floor of new Park Inn hotel in Riga with glass façade overlooking the main avenue leading from the airport to the city center. This pivotal location was to be the key to the brief for developing a trademark that would attract both tourists and citizens to the place.
A series of smaller zones are created within the larger space of the restaurant, tagged with specific Italian names to bring a typical ambience in each area. A key design feature includes communal tables behind the main façade with logo signage that encourage guests to enter and enjoy Italian flavours.
The entrance of the restaurant plays home for a welcoming Show bar connected to the lobby and Alimentari shelving on the other side which houses a range of typical products to experience the Italian journey. The space gives guests the opportunity to dine while watching the chefs prepare pizza behind Show kitchen counter.
With from-street visibility, the Show bar is a key design feature. It gives an illuminated background in the evenings with a Wine cellar displaying a selection of Italian wines, beers and a signature grappa with the service staff clearly on show and performing.
To ensure the overall experience is responsive to Riga’s dining culture, a number of brand items were given a subtle twist to add an increased focus on comfort and refinement, unique to the location.
Reinterpreted elements of a typical Italian restaurant are visible throughout the space with a range of decorative items and vintage lighting features reinforcing the modern reinterpretation of a classical Italian feel.
