Solenne Restaurants
Background and brief
The visual identity of Solenne was conceived to express the soul of an Italian restaurant brand rooted in tradition, warmth, and everyday elegance. The brief called for a brand language that feels authentic and familiar, drawing inspiration from Italy’s rich visual culture while remaining contemporary and refined.
A key reference for the identity was vintage Italian lettering commonly found on historic cafés, trattorias, and neighborhood shops. These graphic cues carry a sense of craftsmanship, heritage, and human scale, aligning closely with Solenne’s culinary philosophy and interior atmosphere. The identity needed to support a relaxed yet confident brand presence, capable of feeling equally at home in a casual lunch setting or a more refined evening dining experience.
Our Solution
The visual identity of Solenne is built around typography-led expression, with a custom logotype inspired by vintage Italian signage and hand-painted lettering. The logo conveys warmth and personality through soft curves and balanced proportions, evoking tradition without feeling dated. Its versatility allows it to perform consistently across positive and negative applications, ensuring clarity and recognition in both physical and digital contexts.
The color palette reinforces this character through earthy, natural tones—deep greens, warm terracotta hues, and soft neutrals—that echo the material language of Italian architecture and cuisine. These colors provide a calm, grounded backdrop for the brand while adding depth and richness to menus, uniforms, and collateral. Typography beyond the logo is clean and legible, carefully selected to complement the expressive lettering while maintaining clarity and hierarchy.
The result is a visual identity that feels honest, timeless, and distinctly Italian, one that supports Solenne’s interior design and culinary concept while creating a strong, recognizable brand presence grounded in tradition and designed for contemporary dining.
